After many weeks of second place finishes, Raeford native Mike Beasley finally drove to victory lane Saturday night at Hammerdown speedway. The polesitter led the first 4 laps before sliding high in turn two, allowing Jeffrey Tyndall to slide by only to see the caution wave for a spin that then gave the Hallmark Reality entry the lead back. Beasley then never relinquished the top spot and held off a determined charge from Tyndall at the stripe. The win snapped Tyndall's winning streak at HDS and denied him the chance at the bonus on this night.
In the Super Late Model Feature, Zack Cox started from the pole but outside front row stater Dean Bowen led the parade by the time they reached turn one. Derrrick Francis had a mid race charge through the field and was battling Bowen for the top spot, when the 91 ride lost traction underneath Bowen and ended Francis' bid for the lead. It was Bowen's 4th straight win at HDS as he now sets his sights on the big Lucas Oil race next weekend at FMS.
In the Super Street, Cameron Norris picked up the win, passing Rod Spatirico win 5laps remaining.
The Young Guns feature winner tonight was Jordan Tyndall as he picked up his 10th win of 2008 holding off Dylan Hammond.
The 270 sprint car winner was Michael Weeks and David Lee picked up the 600 sprint car victory.
